Chairman's Message

October, 2016 Chairman's Message

The new management that was elected this January thus has now consolidated, settled down and understood the KIATO business to some extent. So far however, 49 tour operators have accomplished their membership for the year 2016; of which 8 are new members. I call upon all members to accomplish their membership to enable the association to perform.

The new management started with formulation of the Five Year Strategic Plan (2016 – 2020); this was adapted during the April 2016 Extra Ordinary General Meeting.

The implementation of this Strategic Plan (2016-2020) aims at strengthening KIATO programming and promote effective participation of tour operators in nation-building activities through, capacity building & research, livelihoods and/or income generating projects, leadership and decision making processes while achieving their social and economic development.

The Plan sets out the Vision, Mission, Core Values and objectives of KIATO for the next five years, outlines the strategies and actions set to achieve the objectives and highlights the key indicators as standard measures of performance. The realization of the plan will depend on the contribution and support of numbers of stakeholders including the general public, Government, research organizations, Civil Society Organization and development partners. These stakeholders are important because each has a role to play in enhancing our performance and stretch our strategic goal to realization.
